A perfect repair involves patching the damaged carpet with undamaged carpet and blending the fibers so it looks as if there was never any issues when we leave. Most carpet can be blended properly, some aged carpets take more time and tools to blend the fibers as they may have changed color over time due to sun or dirt damage. Nylon, Olefin, Polyester Carpet Fibers, Wool, Wool Blend Carpet Fibers and Synthetic Blend can all be repaired and matched to perfection with time and the proper tools. Does your carpet need to be stretched?
Are you noticing ripples, wrinkles or buckling in the your carpet?
This problem can appear due to a few reason, the main reason being that it was not properly stretched when it was installed. The installers cut the carpet too big and did not stretch it tight enough and over time the extra carpet creased up on itself creating a ripple. Carpet is a pliable material that has features of elasticity, meaning over time it can stretch too much especially when heavy furniture is pushed across the carpet many times. When the carpet stretches too much there is additional carpet that has to go somewhere and it ends up pushing itself up creating what looks like a bubble in your carpet.
How can bubbles in your carpet be fixed?
Getting your carpet professionally re-stretched will stretched the carpet in the opposite direction from which the ripple is being created. We use a power stretcher, which is a tool that leverages the stretcher and stretch of the wall to maximize the force it can stretch the carpet allowing it to flatten out perfectly. We will cut off the extra carpet at the wall and reinstall your carpet leaving your with a perfectly flat flooring.
Can your carpet be stretched to remove wrinkles?
Big box flooring stores that may have been the original installers of your carpeting might advise that your carpet needs to be replaced and cannot be re-stretched or even repaired. Often times this is not the case, while it is possible for carpeting to be worn beyond repair the more common option is that its possible, much easier, cheaper and faster to get your carpeting stretched rather than replaced.
